There is lots of products that can be sold in one country, but are forbiden and not legal in other ones. For example some food supplements may be allowed in USA and not legal to be imported in EU. Or slimming pills, diet pills, or it may be anything like Tabaco products.

Or maybe your products are even legal in other countries but you do not want to risk sending for example a purchased notebook to Australia from USA and so on. Or maybe shipping cost exceeds the product price itself:)

No matter what is the reason. Sometimes there is a reason when we as administrator of opencart shop do not want clients from one or another country to buy some products.

But to track manually all customers where they comes from is extremely hard . And almost impossible. And you may get in a situation when user purchased some product, pays you the money and only after that you notice that the country he is from you are simply not shipping this item.

So you have to cancel order , apologize the client, and return him the money (way too much task for nothing, even worse in a situation like that you simply will loose this customer for other products the ones you do ship to his country).

So here is the sky where this extension comes to shine:) The Geo block module enables you as administrator to create user groups to participate in Geo Blocking, and set user countries where geo block must be applied. Once done, you simply enable / disable geo block by product. and once the product is added to the geo block list this product will not even be visible to the customers from blocked countries.

Module uses MaxMind geo ip database (it claims 99% accuracy)
